This remodel in the hills of Mill Valley was another project working with architectural
and design firm Nahemow and Rivera.
The living room was gutted, all new lighting and switches were installed.
A six foot opening with french doors was increased to a twenty foot opening and a Loewen double slider unit was installed.
The original deck was extended and redone in Ipe (an exotic Brazilian hardwood) with copper stiles. Another opening was enlarged
to sixteen feet in the adjacent dining room, and a Loewen unit was installed there as well. Both openings provided amazing
views of the Bay Bridge, as well as the many other breathtaking surroundings.
The kitchen was redone with Dacor
appliances and a built-in Sub Zero refrigerator, as well as a built-in Miele dishwasher. A custom bay window was built to
view the waterfall just outside the kitchen window. Counter-tops were done in marble and the tile back-splash incorporated
all colors beautifully. The office/nook area was also redone with marble.
The entry door was replaced with a solid
mahogany unit, and the fireplace was wrapped in marble. The upstairs bathroom was redone with new in wall faucets, marble
top for the vanity, a custom mirror with reconfigured lighting and a venetian plaster finish. New overhangs were built over
each entryway with down lighting.
The entire exterior of the house was stained, all fascia boards were replaced
and copper gutters and downspouts were installed.
This was a challenging project for J.E.O. Construction and the
end result was an amazing transformation due to creative design and detailed construction.
